Balderton Podcast: "Outdated assumptions about Nordic tech"

Last week I had the pleasure of being invited onto Balderton's podcast. Balderton are an active investor in the Nordics and are one of the London firms who are regularly on the ground in the region. Case in point: They're sending five, yes five, of their firm to participate in the #STHLMTech meet-up next week.

In the podcast, the host (Ben Goldsmith) and I delve a little deeper into my recent article on why there are a number of general assumptions about the Nordic tech scene that are now outdated versus the current reality, and I also provide a few hints and tips as to who the key players are in Copenhagen, Stockholm and Helsinki.

In the tech world, things move fast and companies are born anywhere in the world. I’m able to have an ear to the ground with The Nordic Web - the content is fresh, local, and of high quality, which is exactly what you need as a seed investor.

In fact, it’s through Neil Murray’s newsletter that I first heard about Mapillary. Several months later, I was fortunate to lead our firm’s investment in the Company to help drive the creation of a crowdsourced visual representation of our world
